Aloha Fellow Rotarians,
Back by popular demand, the rice project continues...
As most of you may know, we have been assisting the Food Basket with a rice project where we have been breaking down large rice bag quantities into smaller 5lb sizes. The needs of the Food Basket during the COVID-19 lockdown are in great demand and they have reached out to us and asked for help.
The Food Basket delivered 3 pallets of rice yesterday to Hilo Daijingu for repackaging.
We are looking at a work day tomorrow, 05/20, with two work shifts available at 2-4pm and 4-6pm. We are planning 2 hrs shifts instead of three because there is less rice to process this time around.
If you are interested in volunteering for this project, please email me so that I can schedule you in, as we need to limit the work crews to about 6-7 people.
We will be at the certified kitchen Hilo Daijingu located at 10 Anela St. in Hilo. We will have all necessary supplies including there except for that you need to bring your own face mask, something to drink and snack on. Again, because we will be on our feet for a majority of the 3 hours, please bring comfortable shoes. Thank you,
James Tyrin |

Ruth Sanchez is the Executive Director of Project CURE Arizona.
Delivering health and hopeThousands of people die every day in the developing world because local hospitals & clinics don’t have the medical supplies and equipment needed to save lives in their communities. Children are missing the chance to get an education and live a full life due to illnesses that would be treatable if they had access to proper health services. It’s Project C.U.R.E.’s mission to change that. Together we will deliver health & hope to the world. |
