Online meeting extends until May 27

  • In accordance to the Governor's declaration, the club meeting will go online until May 27.

BOD Meeting on April 22

RCHB community grant

  • The club is ready to spend up to $7,500 during the current Rotary year (until June 30, 2020) for community support and COVID-19 disaster relief.

  • Please submit your grant applications to Chester Cabral no later than May 18 if you want the selection at the board meeting on May 20. The grant applications will be selected at the BOD meeting on May 20. Urgent requests may be discussed and selected before May 20.

Club Assembly

  • HRYF has raised $5,100 for the moment.
  • Resuming Hawaii schools needs much work to be done. Keeping schooling online is also challenging.
    • Assuring hygiene - non-contact thermometers, portable sinks, masks
    • How can we make 7-year old kids keep social distancing?
    • All adults in the schools should wear ID so that they can identified even with a face mask on.
    • Some families have no Internet, no phone or no electricity.
    • Mobile Internet stations may be built?
  • Health check by the individual is important. Oxygen level in the blood can be measured with a smartphone.
  • Is the shortage of meat coming to Hawaii due to shutdown of major slaughterhouses in the mainland?
    • There are two slaughterhouses on the Big Island. It will take months to train workers and to raise the production at the local slaughterhouses
