RCHB Community Grant

  • The club is ready to spend up to $7,500 during the current Rotary year (until June 30, 2020) for community support and COVID-19 disaster relief.
  • The grant applications will be selected at the BOD meeting on May 20. Urgent requests may be discussed and selected before May 20. 
  • We received the applications from Ku'ikahi Mediation Center and Friends of Children's Justice Center of East Hawaii.

District and RI club citations

  • The president may ask member's help to complete the citations.

Announcements, Director / Committee Chair report

  • Rice bagging: James Tyrin said that the rice bagging takes place today (May 20, 2020) at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Chris Okano, Mike Carroll, Sharon Scheele, Jan Abundo, Junichi Noumaru and Steve Jacunski will join in the first shift. James Tyrin, Art Taniguchi, Sharon Scheele, John Gapp, Richard Cunningham and David DeLuz will join in the second shift.
  • Online Social: Tomorrow (May 21, 2020) from 5 p.m. on Zoom. James Tyrin said that there will be the contests for best Zoom background, best dressed and best food/drink presentation. The winner of each category would have $25 donated to polio plus on their behalf.
  • Kupuna Meal: Tom Witthans said that Marlene Norton has helped packing meals regularly. Need volunteers for Friday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Hilo Missionary Church.
