Steve Yoshida and Charlene Iboshi are looking for Rotarians who can host participants to Open World Program from Russia for three nights on September 27, 28 and 29.
Good morning, EH Rotary Clubs Presidents,

Steve Yoshida, Hawaii E-Rotary Club, has arranged for an Open World Program Delegation to visit Hawaii Island and Oahu. This was approved by District 5000. The theme for the visit is "Alternative Energy.”  Hawaii County will be participating with this International visit.
Included are a brief summary of the program and detailed OW delegates’ profiles. Attached are the OW handbook, forms, etc.
The E-Rotary Club of Hawaii will be “host” club for the paperwork.
The request to the EH Rotary Clubs:
1) Locate Host families for the Open World Delegates from Russia.  The Peace Committee discussed finding one house to rent, however, the comments was the “social interaction” with a local family is preferred.
2) Participate in the evening social activities involving social exchange—exchange of food and culture (One meal could be Russian and the other “local food” and entertainment). Rotarian always have fun and food, so this should not be too hard to do.
3) Your Peace Committee representatives will help plan the activities, and we warmly ask for other volunteers who would enjoy being involved with this Program, e.g., your RI International Activities chairs.
PARTICIPATING IN THE OPEN WORLD PROGRAM
Rotary International (RI) has been awarded a grant from the Open World Leadership Center1 in Washington, DC
(the Center), to support Rotary districts and clubs participating in the Open World Program in 2019 hosting
year.
This grant is a part of the annual funding, provided by the U.S. Congress to support Open World (OW) initiatives
through the Center and its grantees (host organizations). RI grant is administered under the OW grand guidelines.
It is important that local host coordinators become familiar with the summary of these provisions, outlined below,
and comply with them.
In compliance with RI financial regulations
