It's all about helping people get back on their feet with a job.  Steven Harris explained Goodwill Hawaii's Supporting Employment Empowerment (SEE) Program and how local business owners can benefit by employing one of Steven's clients.

The range of applicants coming through job readiness training at Goodwill is diverse and always changing.  Some have higher education degrees and technical training.   The SEE Program helps the client succeed with job coaching and transportation reimbursements.  Employers receive timely reimbursement for wages at minimum wage ($8.50) plus $0.50 for every $1.00 per hour.  There are 50-70 employers currently participating on this island.  The program strives to make it as simple as possible for employers willing to participate.  There is a one-page application plus the Hawaii Compliance Express certificate.  Once signed up, then just send a job opening request to Steve (sharris@goodwill.com).  Reimbursements are directly deposited into the employer's account by the State Department of Human Services within 7 days of filing for reimbursement.
